NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Elmhurst junior forward/center
Lavon Thomas was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
A native of Bellwood, Illinois and Wheaton North High School, Thomas averaged a double-double while helping Elmhurst earn a pair of victories last week. He averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds while shooting .520 from the floor over a two-game span. On Tuesday, he scored 20 points and totaled 11 rebounds in the Bluejays' 93-91 win over Lake Forest. He shot 8-of-12 from the floor and added three assists and a steal in the win. On Saturday, he totaled 14 points and 11 rebounds while helping Elmhurst defeat 23rd-ranked Wabash 83-66. He added an assist and a steal in the win over the Little Giants.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
