2019 United Soccer Coaches All-Region

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The United Soccer Coaches, on Monday, announced the members of its Men's All-Region Teams, which included nine College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) student-athletes.

The team featured four First Team and five Second Team selections. CCIW regular season and tournament champion North Park led the way with four players including three on the First Team. Illinois Wesleyan (2), North Central (2) and Carthage (1) rounded out the CCIW teams represented on the all-region squad.

All nine student-athletes earned CCIW All-Conference honors in 2019 including seven All-CCIW First Team members (Spencer Wiese, Angel Barriga, Gustav Ericsson, Peder Olsen, Ivan Esquivel, Patrick Hickey, Alexis Flores) and two All-CCIW Second Team members (Alex Ruckstaetter, Ulrik Lund). 

Wiese, Barriga, Ericsson and Olsen are all eligible to earn United Soccer Coaches All-America honors, which will be announced later this month.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
