ELMHURST, Ill. -- Elmhurst's Luke Deel has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-America men's soccer team.

Deel was named a first-team Academic All-America selection as a defender. He was one of just 33 student-athletes named to the national Academic All-America team. Deel was the only player from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) selected to the team.

Deel started 19 games for the Bluejays as a defender. He helped Elmhurst's defense limit opponents to only 11 shots per game. He totaled two goals and four points for the season. He maintains a 4.00 grade-point average.

Deel is the 43rd Elmhurst student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors. Since the year 2000, Elmhurst student-athletes have earned 35 Academic All-America honors. Only two CCIW schools have more academic All-Americans in that time frame.
