WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Carroll University has named Mike Schulist interim director of athletics. Schulist, who has 12 years of experience at Carroll, most recently was senior associate athletic director for advancement, operations, media relations and marketing.
Schulist, who has been with Carroll's athletics program since June 2007, started as assistant events and facilities coordinator/sports information assistant and, after moving up through the ranks, was named senior associate athletic director July 1.
Schulist, who holds a master of sports science degree in sports administration from the U.S. Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, and a bachelor of science in sports administration from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, will replace James Hall.
"I look forward to the opportunities this new role provides to work even more closely with our student-athletes in the coming year," Schulist said.
"We're pleased to welcome Mike as our interim director of athletics, and we want to thank Jim Hall for his leadership during his tenure here," said Theresa Barry, who oversees Athletics as vice president of Student Affairs. "Mike has an extensive background in NCAA Division III sports operations, both at the conference and national levels, and partners with our Institutional Advancement team to fundraise for Pioneer Athletics. He has been instrumental in creating and maintaining our GoPios website and has worked extensively with Carroll to plan and manage our Pioneer facilities."
Schulist's national leadership includes being regional chair of the NCAA Division III football championship committee for 2018-'21.
