Robert Neidballa were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week on Monday.
Rutter, a senior quarterback from Naperville, Illinois and Neuqua Valley High School, set a new Cardinal record for passing accuracy (94.1%) and became the first North Central quarterback to throw for 100 career touchdowns in a 77-0 win over North Park on Saturday. He finished 16-of-17 for 334 yards and four touchdown passes in the win as the Cardinals scored on all eight of their first-half possessions. Additionally, each of Rutter's four touchdown passes covered at least 33 yards.
Rowland, a senior defensive back from Greenville, Michigan and Northpointe Christian, helped lead the Thunder defense to a 62-0 win over Millikin on Saturday as the Big Blue were held to 181 yards of offense, including just 92 passing yards. Rowland totaled two interceptions, three pass breakups and had three solo tackles. His first interception came in the first quarter with Wheaton leading 7-0 as he picked off a Millikin pass at the Thunder 38-yard line and returned it nine yards. His second interception came in the second quarter with Wheaton leading 17-0 as he picked off a pass at the Big Blue 44-yard line and returned it 26 yards to the Millikin 26 to set up a Wheaton touchdown four plays later.
Neidballa, a sophomore linebacker from Winfield, Illinois and Wheaton North High School, scored a key special teams touchdown in the Titans' 21-17 win over Augustana on Saturday. With Illinois Wesleyan leading 14-10, Neidballa scooped up a blocked punt on the Vikings' first possession of the third quarter and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown and a 21-10 lead. It was the first blocked punt returned for a touchdown by the Titans since October 21, 2017.
