Jason Eslinger and Augustana's
Ryan Hirschel were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday.
Eslinger, a senior right side hitter from Lancaster, California and Quartz Hill High School, set a new program record for kills in a match with 22 in a five-set loss against Aurora on Thursday. He hit .364, and added five digs and three blocks in the season opener against the Spartans.
Hirschel, a junior setter from Libertyville, Illinois and Libertyville High School, helped lead Augustana to a 2-1 record last week, including a five-set win over fifth-ranked Benedictine on Sunday. He had 10 kills, 24 set assists, five digs and one block against the Eagles, and had five kills, 15 assists, five digs and three blocks in a sweep of Fontbonne on Saturday. Hirschel added seven kills, 20 assists, 10 digs and one block in a four-set loss to Aurora on Saturday.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
