Over 1,900 CCIW student-athletes cast their vote during 2020 elections

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) is pleased to announce that 1,907 total student-athletes across the conference were reported as having voted in last week's elections.

Illinois Wesleyan led the conference with 396 student-athletes voting in this election.

In September, the CCIW Student-Athlete Advisory Council created the "CCIW Votes" initiative to help encourage student registration and voting for the November 2020 elections.

Last week, the CCIW posted a video that featured student-athletes talking about the importance of voting, followed by footage from the various voter registration drives that took place on CCIW member campuses throughout the fall.

Student-athletes speaking in this video (in order of appearance) include North Park's Josie Summerville (Women's Basketball) and Aquil Spates (Men's Basketball), North Central's Lindsey Novak (Women's Soccer), Augustana's Jacob Barker and Josh Chamberlain (Baseball), North Central's Kily Egan (Women's Soccer) and Millikin's Jessi Kreder (Women's Volleyball).
