NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2020-21 and part of that celebration includes recognizing current athletics staff members who have served 20-plus years at their institutions. 

These men and women have worked tirelessly throughout their careers in helping make the CCIW one of the most competitive conferences at the NCAA Division III level. 

For December, we recognize North Park University's staff members.

In addition to serving as the institution's Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, John Born served 20 years as the Vikings' men's soccer coach. He led his team to 18 consecutive winning seasons, five CCIW regular season titles, five CCIW Tournament titles, and an NCAA runner-up finish in 2017. He became the Assistant VP for Athletics and Sport Management in 2019.

Dr. Jack Surridge was the department's athletics director from 1997 to 2019 and was the women's basketball coach up until 2008, leading the Vikings to two CCIW Tournament appearances. He currently serves as a Strategic Enrollment Management Advisor. 

Sue Zimmer has served as the Associate Director of Athletics and Athletics Facilities Director since the fall of 2006 and was the department's head women's volleyball coach from 1997-2005.

Dr. Dennis Bricault is a Professor of Spanish and Director of English Second Language at North Park University, joining the institution in 1992. He has also graciously volunteered as the Vikings' baseball team's statistician during that time.
