2021 CCIW All-Conference Men's Soccer Team
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced on Tuesday the members of the 2021 All-Conference Men's Soccer Team.
CCIW regular season and tournament champion North Park led with six all-conference players including five on the first team (Jesse Anamoo, Angel Barriga, Gustav Ericsson, Peder Olsen, Christian Vaaland) and one on the second team (Kristoffer Risnes).
Carthage placed five players on the all-conference team with two first team selections (Colin Iverson, Mickey Reilly) and three second team selections (Danny Eloyza, Mason McCaw, Nicholas Renfro). North Central also had five selections with three on the first team (Johnny Kraemer, Sid Marquardt, Dane Richardson) and two on the second team (Jaziel Enriquez, Aidan Westerberg). Led by two first team selections, (Silas Galvao, AJ Moyes) Wheaton also had five players chosen, with three second team honorees (Hasten Biddlecome, Justin Hill, Joey Sopikiotis).
Elmhust (Noah Backhaus, Hayden Madsen) and Illinois Wesleyan (Dane Hoare, Zack Kokes) each had two second team selections.
Carroll (Josh Gonzaga) and Millikin (Eli McClinton) had one second team selection each.
Olsen, a senior midfielder from Larvik, Norway, won CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year honors for the third-straight season, becoming the first player in CCIW men's soccer history to win the award three times.
Ericsson, a senior midfielder from Stockholm, Sweden, was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the second Viking to win the award.
North Central's Enzo Fuschino was named the CCIW Coach of the Year for the second-consecutive season.
Richardson, a freshman forward from Highland, Indiana, became North Central's first player to win the Newcomer of the Year award.
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
