NAPERVILLE, Ill. - North Park and North Central's men's soccer teams opened their participation in the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday.
The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season champs, North Park took advantage of their home field advantage in a 4-2 win over Carleton on Saturday at the Holmgren Athletic Complex.
Peder Olsen tallied goals in the 19th, 26th, and 50th minutes to tally the hat trick for the Vikings.
Tobias Lunde added a late insurance goal as the Vikings advanced to Sunday's Regional title match where they will face WashU. The Bears (13-2-1) advanced via a 1-0 victory over UW-Superior.

North Central had its historic season come to a close on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to Loras. The Duhawks (13-6-2) scored a pair of early goals to give Loras a 2-0 halftime lead. Despite a second half onslaught that saw the Cardinals put 16 shots towards the Loras net, North Central could not pull even despite an 82nd minute goal from
Sam Abreu.
North Central's season finishes with a record of 18-2-1. The Cardinals made program history, winning their first-ever CCIW Men's Soccer Tournament and making the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance.
