2021 D3football.com All-Region 5
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton senior defensive lineman Dallas McRae led the way for the 29 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) student-athletes named to the D3football.com All-Region 5 Team announced Tuesday.
For the second time, McRae was named the Region Defensive Player of the Year, following his selection as the North Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. He is the third Wheaton player to be named Regional Defensive Player of the Year by the website, however, he is the first to pick up the recognition twice in a career. The 2019 D3football.com National Defensive Player of the Year led the Wheaton defense with 13 sacks and 22 tackles for loss this season. He was second on the team in total tackles with 51, including 37 solo stops. He registered eight quarterback hurries this season, breaking up five passes. McRae is ranked 15th in Division III in sacks per game (1.08 SPG) and is 16th in the nation in tackles for loss per game (1.8 TFLPG).
Five CCIW programs were represented on the All-North Region Team including Wheaton (14), North Central (10), Carroll (2), Carthage (2), and Elmhurst (1). The full list of CCIW recipients can be found in the table below.
The 15 First Team selections are now eligible for D3football.com All-America consideration, which will be announced on Friday, December 17 in conjunction with the NCAA Division III National Championship.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
