Carthage's Slivinski, North Central's Nealon named CCIW Men's Volleyball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carthage's Matt Slivinski and North Central's Matt Nealon were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday.

Slivinski, a senior outside hitter from Willow Springs, Illinois and Lyons Township High School, tallied a match-high 22 kills and hit .515 in a sweep of Concordia-Wisconsin on February 9. He averaged 7.33 kills per set, along with eight digs, four service aces and one block.

Nealon, a junior setter from Naperville, Illinois and Metea Valley High School, won his second-straight CCIW Player of the Week honor after helping lead the Cardinals to a four-set win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on February 9. He totaled 43 set assists with just one error, along with four service aces, four blocks and eight digs. Nealon's 43 set assists (10.75 per set), four blocks and eight digs were all career high numbers.
