Armando Quinones and North Central's
Matt Nealon were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Volleyball Players of the Week on Monday.
Quinones, a sophomore outside hitter from San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Mary's School, helped lead to a five-set win over Adrian in the season opener on January 23. He posted 20 kills in the victory and was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Player of the Week in the process. He maintained a .450 hitting percentage and averaged 1.80 digs per set in the win over the Bulldogs.
Nealon, a junior setter from Naperville, Illinois and Metea Valley High School, totaled 30 assists in a sweep of Aurora on February 3. As a team, the Cardinals finished with 39 kills on just nine total errors, while three players hit .500 or better (.750, .692, .500) Nealon also had five service aces.
