NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) student-athletes conducted over 1,100 Acts of Kindness as part of the CCIW's 75 Acts of Kindness program to commemorate the conference's 75th anniversary.
CCIW institutions reported on their various Acts of Kindness throughout the 2020-21 academic year as all nine athletic departments reached the goal of performing at least 75 Acts of Kindness. This included various community service events, volunteering to spend time virtually with local schools, or an event with an organization like Special Olympics.
Student-athletes helped with campus beautification projects, decorated cards for local nursing homes, participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, created holiday cards to children at local hospitals, packaged meals for families, hosted food drives, read to elementary school children, donated sports equipment to international ministries, as well as many other acts of kindness.
While COVID-19 poses many challenges for our conference members, our student-athletes are committed to continuing to give back to their communities.

Carroll
Members of the Carroll men's basketball program continued its "reading with the Pios" campaign. Each week, men's basketball student-athletes read books to local area elementary school students and conduct a fun Q&A afterwards.
Members of the Carroll swimming & diving team recently conducted a clinic, working with a local Special Olympics swimming team in the Waukesha, Wisconsin area.
Carthage
Student-athletes recently took part in a fundraising event for the Make A Wish Foundation, a food drive in the Kenosha, Wisconsin community, and participated in a beach cleanup along the Lake Michigan shore.
