CCIW announces 2021 All-Conference Men's Volleyball Team

2021 CCIW All-Conference Men's Volleyball Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced today the 16 members of the 2021 All-Conference Men's Volleyball Team.

Carthage led the way with four First Team selections, followed by Loras with two First Team and two Second Team selections, Augustana with one First Team and three Second Team selections, North Central with one First Team and two Second Team selections and North Park with one Second Team selection. 

Carthage senior outside hitter Matt Slivinski won his second-straight CCIW Offensive Player of the Year honor as he led the CCIW in conference-only matches with 4.40 kills per set and 5.18 points per set. He was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Player of the Week twice this past season. 

Slivinski's teammate, sophomore middle blocker Zach Bulthuis, was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row as he led the CCIW in conference-only matches with a .427 hitting percentage and 1.04 blocks per set.

Carthage freshman setter Gene McNulty earned CCIW Newcomer of the Year recognition after he was the only freshman voted to the First Team. He led the CCIW in conference-only matches with 10.86 assists per set.  

Carthage's JW Kieckhefer won his second-straight CCIW Coach of the Year honor in his second season coaching the Firebirds. His team finished 18-0 during the regular season including 12-0 in conference play. The Firebirds won their first CCIW regular season title and are currently ranked second nationally.
