Chris Vartanian were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Eichstaedt, a sophomore wide receiver from Cudahy, Wisconsin and Cudahy High School, helped lead the Pioneers to a 34-33 victory over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, their first win over the Titans since 1989. Eichstaedt finished with career-high totals in targets (15), receptions (12), yards (229) and touchdowns (two) against Illinois Wesleyan. He also had two catches for 39 yards on third downs and pulled down the game-winning 27-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
Beesley, a senior defensive back from Champaign, Illinois and Champaign Central High School, recorded five of North Central's 10 pass breakups in a 20-7 victory over fifth-ranked Wheaton in the Little Brass Bell game on Saturday. Beesley's five pass breakups were a single-game career high, moving him into the Cardinals' career top 10 in breakups (24) and passes defended (31). Beesley also totaled three solo tackles and helped to hold Wheaton scoreless after the game's opening drive.
Vartanian, a junior kicker from Newport Beach, California and St. Margaret's Episcopal School, connected on all five PATs and two field goals during the Bears' 41-7 victory over North Park on Saturday. His best kick was a 42-yard field goal in the third quarter, followed by a 40-yard field goal 10 minutes later.
