NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Ethan Greenfield and Tanner Rains and Illinois Wesleyan’s Josh Hlavacek have been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Greenfield, a senior from Lindenhurst, Ill., is the CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after rushing 16 times for 163 yards in the Cardinals’ 63-3 win over Augustana. He scored four touchdowns on the day, including a receiving touchdown as part of his two-reception, 25-yard performance. Greenfield’s rushing yardage total allowed him to become the 11th player in Division III history with 6,000 career rushing yards, and he’ll enter Saturday’s playoff opener against Lake Forest with 6,052 career yards.
 
Hlavacek is the league’s Defensive recipient this week after tallying eight tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in the Titans’ 21-17 victory at Elmhurst. The Plainfield, Ill. native’s effort, which was tied for second-most on IWU’s single-game sack list, allowed the Titans to compile 11 sacks as a team and limit the Bluejays to just 15 rushing yards.
 
Rains was busy on NCC special teams on Saturday, going 9-for-9 on extra-point attempts and punting twice for a 46.5-yard average to earn CCIW Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week. He also averaged 52.6 yards on 10 kickoffs with two touchbacks and moved into tie for first place in North Central history in single-season PAT kicks made (75).
