NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park senior guard Marquise Jackson is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, according to a Monday afternoon announcement from the conference office. Jackson led the Vikings to a pair of road wins last week, including a 40-point effort at Marian last Tuesday.
The Macon, Ga. native averaged 24.5 points and shot 62 percent from the field over 67 minutes of action in two starts last week. He was 18-for-25 from the floor for 40 points, adding six rebounds, five assists and three steals in NPU’s 85-54 win at Marian last Tuesday. He also shined in North Park’s 82-72 triumph at Loras on Saturday in Dubuque, Iowa with 19 points, five boards, five steals and two assists.
Jackson is North Park’s first CCIW Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week since Colin Lake on Dec. 18, 2017. His efforts have helped NPU to a 4-1 start, its best mark through five games since the 2016-17 Vikings opened the campaign with six consecutive wins.
