Carthage's Busse named CCIW Men's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carthage freshman Paul Busse was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Busse, a native of Waunakee, Wisconsin and Waunakee High School, helped lead Carthage to a first place finish at the Wisconsin Private College Championships held Friday and Saturday at Carthage's Koenitzer Aquatic Center. He won the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:10.89, which was a lifetime best by three seconds and currently leads the CCIW in that event. Busse followed with a best time in the 50-yard freestyle split (22.94) and open (23.53), as well as a time of 1:03.98 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
