NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan senior
Ellen Gilbert won her second College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season on Tuesday.
Gilbert, a native of Northbrook, Illinois and Glenbrook North High School, won three events during the Titans' dual meet against Franklin on Saturday. She took first in the 200-yard freestyle with an un-tapered best time of 1:56.56, and set a Fort Natatorium pool record in the 100-yard butterfly, winning with a time of 57.91. This time was also an un-tapered best as Gilbert won the event by over five seconds. Gilbert was also part of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:52.05).
