NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin each earned a share of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women's basketball regular season titles following victories in each of its regular season finales on Saturday.
Both teams finished the regular season with a 14-2 record in conference play. Millikin earned the No. 1 seed for next week's CCIW Women's Basketball Tournament, picking up the tiebreaker over Illinois Wesleyan with a 2-0 record against third place Carroll.
The Big Blue won the CCIW Tournament last season, their first tournament title since 2005. On Saturday, Millikin clinched a share of the regular season title with an 83-63 win at Wheaton. It was the Big Blue's 12th title in program history and second under head coach Olivia Lett.
The Titans clinched a share of the regular season title with a 65-62 win at Augustana on Saturday. This is the eighth title for Illinois Wesleyan, all under the direction of head coach Mia Smith.
The 2022 CCIW Women's Basketball Tournament begins on Tuesday, February 22 as North Park hosts Wheaton and North Central travels to Carroll. Links to live stats and live video can be found on the
