NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Week 2 Football Student-Athlete of the Week recipients. Carroll quarterback Josh Raby earned the Offensive award, North Central defensive lineman BJ Adamchik received the Defensive honor and Illinois Wesleyan defensive back Anthony Wachal, Jr. was the Special Teams winner.

Raby, a junior from Algonquin, Ill., made his first career appearance Saturday night for the Pioneers and led CU to a 54-7 drubbing of Wisconsin Lutheran in the inaugural Glazers Bowl in Wauwatosa, Wis. Raby finished the night 21-for-27 for 264 yards and five touchdowns without an interception. He also rushed for 21 yards, helping the Pioneers set a new program record with 34 first downs and put up its highest point total since 2012.

Adamchik led the NCC defense Saturday with 12 total tackles, 11 of which were unassisted, to go along with 1.0 sack. The sophomore from Raleigh, N.C. helped the Cardinals limit Wabash to just 12 points after the Little Giants broke out for 52 points and 663 yards just one week earlier. North Central limited the hosts to 80 rushing yards on 37 attempts, an average of 2.2 yards per carry.

Wachal, Jr. kept the second-half momentum flowing for Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday when he scooped up a blocked Ohio Wesleyan field goal attempt and returned it 83 yards for a touchdown in the quarter of the Titans’ 45-21 win. The touchdown extended the IWU advantage to 38-7 midway through the third quarter, part of a run of 45 unanswered points from the Titans. Wachal, Jr., a senior from Elk Grove Village, Ill., also had four tackles and an interception in the win.
