NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced its Football Student-Athletes of the Week for the third week of the 2022 season. Wheaton quarterback Will Bowers is the Offensive winner, WashU defensive lineman Josh Hartman is the Defensive recipient and Augustana return specialist Bobby Inserra is the Special Teams winner.
 
Bowers, a graduate student from Westlake, Texas, completed 23 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns in the #11 Thunder’s 42-7 CCIW victory over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday night. Bowers also opened the scoring with a 51-yard touchdown run less than two minutes into the contest, part of a 41-yard effort for the evening.
 
Hartman made four tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks in helping WashU to a 54-7 league win over Millikin in St. Louis. The sophomore from Plantation, Fla. also helped the Bears put points on the board early in the first quarter when his sack in the end zone resulted in a safety and an 8-0 advantage.
 
A senior from Park Ridge, Ill., Inserra proved to be a valuable weapon on special teams in Augustana’s 34-16 CCIW victory at Elmhurst. He returned five EU punts for 78 yards, including a 27-yard return just three plays into the second quarter that set up a short field on the Vikings’ third scoring drive of the afternoon.
