NAPERVILLE – Wheaton senior Kael Gannon and Carthage freshman Mark Bianco have been voted College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Gannon won the swimming award after a breakthrough performance in last Saturday’s dual meet against Augustana. The Delaware, Ohio native split 22.7 seconds on the Thunder’s 200-yard medley relay and also contributed a leg of 21.5 seconds on WC’s 200-yard freestyle relay.
The diving award is Bianco’s after the freshman produced a score of 129.35 in the 1-meter dive. He also scored 238.35 over 11 dives in his first 3-meter competition.
