NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced Carthage sophomore Grace Norman and Wheaton junior Sophie Pelling as the conference’s Women’s Swimming Co-Student-Athletes of the Week.
Norman, a native of Clarkston, Mich., had a career day for the Firebirds at the Wisconsin Private Championship on Saturday in Kenosha. She registered new personal bests in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.16), 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.29) and the 100-yard fly relay split (59.64 seconds).
Pelling, now a two-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week winner in 2022-23, claimed three wins for the Thunder in its dual versus Augustana last Saturday. She bested the 50-yard freestyle field with a winning time of 24.39 seconds, then split 23.72 seconds in the 200-yard medley relay and led off the Thunder’s winning 200-yard freestyle relay.
