SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings football team has been selected to compete in the third annual Culver's Isthmus Bowl on Saturday, November 18, the bowl organization announced Sunday afternoon. The Vikings will take on the UW-Platteville Pioneers at 2 p.m. from Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium.

Augustana earned the bid after finishing in third place in the CCIW with an 8-2 overall record and 7-2 mark in league play. The Isthmus Bowl is set up to take the top remaining team in both the CCIW and WIAC conferences that did not earn an NCAA Division III berth. Both North Central and and Wheaton from the CCIW were selected for the playoffs on Sunday.

UW-Platteville earned a spot in this season's game after finishing in a tie for third place with UW-Oshkosh and UW-River Falls in the WIAC. All three teams went 1-1 versus each other, with the next step in the tiebreaker favoring the Pioneers.

Saturday will serve as the 14th all-time meeting between the two programs.

More information regarding Saturday's game will be announced throughout the week.
