NAPERVILLE – Augustana sophomore Kadence Tatum was selected Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s basketball by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Monday afternoon.
The Moline, Ill. native made two starts last week for the Vikings, averaging 14.5 points, 12.0 assists and 8.0 rebounds. Tatum narrowly missed a triple-double in Augie’s 76-45 win at Monmouth last Tuesday, compiling 16 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
Just two days later, she netted 13 points and 15 assists without a turnover in 37 minutes against Wisconsin-Platteville.
Her effort on Thursday against UW-Platteville marked the first instance of a Division III player having at least 15 assists without a turnover in a game since at least the 2010-11 season, according to NCAA records. Additionally, it was the first 15-assist game of the 2023-24 Division III season, as well as the first time a CCIW player had at least 15 assists in a game since Carthage’s Stephanie Kuzmanic had 17 helpers against North Central on Jan. 11, 2014.
