NAPERVILLE – A pair of repeat selections highlighted the final announcement of College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week during the 2023 season on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Hitter: Taylor French, Illinois Wesleyan
French made it four consecutive CCIW Hitter of the Week choices and seven selections overall this season after putting down 6.14 kills per set in the Titans’ two non-league wins last week. She also logged a .333 attack percentage and had 0.57 service aces per set. French also collected her 19th double-double of the season with 16 kills and 11 digs in the Titans’ sweep of Webster last Wednesday.
 
Setter: Christina Gatta, North Park
Gatta repeated as the league’s top setter of the week and collected her third weekly honor of 2023 after a 33-assist, 10-dig, 10-ace triple-double in the Vikings’ win over Carroll that secured the CCIW regular-season title. For the full week, the senior from Chicago averaged 8.63 assists and 1.88 service aces per set.
 
Defense: Amber Vande Hei, North Central
Vande Hei, a junior middle blocker from Green Bay, Wis., totaled eight blocks for the Cardinals in their five-set matchup with Elmhurst last Wednesday. Four of her eight blocks were solo and it marked just the fourth instance this season a CCIW player has logged at least eight blocks in a conference match.
