NAPERVILLE – Wheaton’s TJ Askew has been named the final College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2022-23 season, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Askew, who was named to the All-CCIW First Team on Monday, averaged 23.5 points and eight rebounds in two victories that allowed the Thunder to secure its first CCIW regular-season title since 2009. He was the top scorer in both contests, including a career-high 28 points last Saturday at Wheaton.
The graduate student from San Diego, Calif. also shot 64 percent from the floor and 58 percent from 3-point range to go along with five blocked shots and four assists for the week.
Askew is now a two-time weekly honoree from the league this season.
