NAPERVILLE – The fourth annual All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Volleyball Teams were announced by the league office, Tuesday afternoon.

Eighth-year North Central head coach Kyle Exline was voted CCIW Coach of the Year after leading the Cardinals to a perfect 10-0 league record and their first-ever regular-season CCIW championship. NCC senior outside hitter Jared Moser was named CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year, while freshman middle blocker Connor Davis is the CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year.

Patrick Mahoney, a graduate-student middle blocker from Loras, was selected CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year.

In 10 league contests, no CCIW player accounted for more points than Moser, who averaged league bests with 4.55 kills and 5.18 points scored per set. He also ranked second in the conference with 0.42 service aces per set, third with a .431 hitting percentage and seventh with 1.82 digs per set. Now a four-time All-CCIW First Team honoree, Moser’s 4.78 points per set over the full season were seventh-most in Division III.

Of the defensive end, Mahoney will enter Wednesday’s CCIW Tournament semifinal as the national leader with 1.32 blocks per set. He also led the CCIW in 10 conference matches with 0.50 service aces per set and ranked second in the league with a .447 hitting percentage.

Davis was a steady presence at the tape for NCC, registering 0.76 blocks per set against conference foes to rank sixth among CCIW defenders – and most among league freshmen.

League champ North Central received five All-CCIW choices, including First-Team nods for Tyler Donovan, Moser and Parker Nelson. Runner-up and defending national champion Carthage placed Zach Bulthuis, David Markes and Carter Schmidt on the First Team, three of CC’s four honorees. The Loras trio of Joe Horn, Mahoney and Corey Mayotte rounded out the First Team.

Seven of the 10 First Team choices are repeat selections, while Bulthuis and Moser are four-time First Team honorees. Dorian Fiorenza of Loras was picked for the Second Team, his fourth All-CCIW honor.
