NAPERVILLE – As part of the conference’s ongoing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has developed the formation of its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC).
The committee, which includes one representative from each member institution, met for the first time on Wednesday, July 19 on the campus of North Central College in Naperville.
The CCIW DEIC will serve as a coordinating body that connects CCIW campuses to develop and share strategies and resources. The committee will also collaborate with campus Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designees on best practices for creating an environment that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion throughout each department.
In addition to working alongside the DEIC and campus administrators, coaches and athletics support staff to implement conference-wide programming, the CCIW will continue to support NCAA and campus-based DEI initiatives for student-athletes.
