NPU’s Dejworek, IWU’s Kedzior Claim CCIW Men’s Soccer Honors

NAPERVILLE – Student-Athlete of the Week award winners in men’s soccer were announced by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Tuesday.
 
Offense: Michal Dejworek, North Park
Dejworek, a sophomore forward from Crystal Lake, Ill., scored twice for the Vikings in their 3-0 win over Benedictine to begin the season last Friday night in Chicago. Both of Dejworek’s tallies came in the match’s first 56 minutes, including the winner at 14:02 on an assist from Tim Sjostrom.
 
Defense: Sam Kedzior, Illinois Wesleyan
Illinois Wesleyan took down non-league rival WashU for the first time in program history thanks to Kedzior’s 90-minute shutout last Friday night, the second of his career. The Cary, Ill. native made two saves and helped IWU withstand seven WashU corner kicks in the triumph at Neis Field.
