NAPERVILLE – North Central guard Elle Sutter has been selected College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student Athlete of the Week in women’s basketball, according to an announcement form the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The 5-foot-9 senior from Peoria, Ill. drove the Cardinals to a pair of victories over CCIW opponents and are now just three games off the pace of the league lead.
Sutter, who was named an All-American in women’s soccer in November, netted 22 points, seven rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists on the hardwood last Wednesday as NCC overpowered North Park, 75-66.
Just three days later, Sutter had a season-high 25 points to help the Cardinals end a 31-game skid dating back to 2010 in their all-time series with Wheaton, an 85-66 win inside Gregory Arena. She also logged seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in 31 minutes of action.
