CCIW Men's Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week (Oct. 1)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for matches played between Monday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 29.

Offensive: Bastian Eikeland, North Park, Freshman (Stavanger, Norway)
Eikeland became the first CCIW player to have three assists in a match when he assisted on all three goals in NPU’s 3-0 shutout of Augustana in last Saturday’s league opener.

Prior to Saturday’s performance, the midfielder connected on his fifth goal of the season in the 22nd minute of last Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Kalamazoo.

Defensive: Hugo Neborg, North Park, Junior (Halmstad, Sweden)
Neborg put in 112 minutes of work on North Park’s back line last week, helping the Vikings to a pair of victories that extended their season-opening unbeaten streak to 10 matches. NPU allowed only one goal in the two matches, which included a 3-0 CCIW victory over Augustana last Saturday.

Neborg also contributed at the offensive end, scoring a goal in each of the Vikings’ wins. The strikes were the first two goals of Neborg’s 40-match career.
