NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Football Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for games played during week eight of the 2024 season.
 
Offense: Luke Lehnen, North Central, Fifth Year (Chatham, Ill.)
Lehnen had a hand in all seven North Central touchdowns, driving the Cardinals to a 49-10 victory at Augustana last Saturday. He completed 10 of 16 passes for 177 yards and five touchdowns through the air, all while adding 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on six attempts.
 
The effort gave Lehnen the new career record in Division III with 184 touchdowns responsible for.
 
Defense: Ben Butler, North Park, Junior (Kenosha, Wis.)
Butler was the key player in the big moments for the North Park defense in the Vikings’ 28-24 victory over Illinois Wesleyan. With NPU hanging on to the lead in the closing minutes, Butler had an interception on each of IWU’s final three series, all in the final four minutes of the game.
 
Butler added five tackles, all unassisted, and a 1.0 tackle for loss in the win.
 
Special Teams: Nate Tofilon, Wheaton, Junior (Palatine, Ill.)
Tofilon delivered a versatile effort on special teams for the Thunder in their 27-20 triumph at WashU on Saturday. Tofilon punted five times at an average of 40.6 yards per kick, pinning two punts inside the Bears’ 20-yard-line.
 
Tofilon also got into the action on the other side of the ball, blocking a WashU punt early in the second quarter that teed up Wheaton’s first scoring drive of the day.
