NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for matches played between Monday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 6.
 
Hitter: Taylor French, Illinois Wesleyan, Junior (Romeoville, Ill.)
French averaged 4.71 kills and 5.36 points per set in posting double-doubles for the Titans in a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents last week.
 
In last Wednesday’s sweep of #15 North Park, French compiled 14 kills on a 324 hitting percentage. She added 11 digs, two blocks and a service ace in the victory. Two nights later against #8 Millikin, French tacked on 19 more kills on 57 swings. She logged another 13 digs, three blocks and a service ace in the four-set win.
 
Setter: Sophia Feeney, Illinois Wesleyan, Sophomore (Bloomington, Ill.
Feeney delivered 5.43 assists per set in IWU’s wins over #15 North Park and #8 Millikin last week. Her 21 assists in the win versus Millikin marked her seventh match of the season with at least 20 assists. She also had 13 digs on Friday against MU for her second double-double of 2024.
 
Defensive: Kannyn Boyd, Illinois Wesleyan, Junior (Mount Pleasant Mich.)
Boyd is now a two-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week this season after averaging 7.00 digs in seven sets of action last week. Her 29 digs against eighth-ranked Millikin equaled her highest total in a four-set match this season.
