NAPERVILLE – North Central improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) last Saturday to maintain the #1 spot in national polls released by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
NCC defeated rival Wheaton 55-27 on Saturday. D3football.com voters picked NCC at #1 on 18 of 25 ballots for 618 points. Thirty-six of 50 voters in the AFCA poll put the Cardinals at #1 for 1,235 points.
Wheaton slid to #24 in the D3football.com poll with 55 points. The Thunder were not ranked by the AFCA on Monday.
WashU, a 33-23 winner at Illinois Wesleyan last Saturday, received votes in both polls.
