NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Football Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for games played during week 11 of the 2024 season.
 
Offense: Taveon Porter, Elmhurst, Junior (Chicago Heights, Ill.)
Porter rushed 26 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Bluejays to a 35-7 win over Millikin in last Saturday’s season finale at Langhorst Field. The EU running back also hauled in a reception for 54 yards and a touchdown while returning a kickoff 23 yards. 
 
Porter finished the day with 228 all-purpose yards, most by a CCIW player in a game this season.
 
Defense: Jack Middleton, WashU, Freshman (Austin, Texas)
In the Bears’ 45-24 win over Augustana, Middleton established new career highs with 3.0 sacks and five total tackles. Four of Middleton’s tackles were unassisted. He also finished the day with three quarterback hurries.
 
Special Teams: Breyden Smith, Augustana, Junior (Arlington Heights, Ill.)
Smith collected his second CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week award Monday after piling up 159 return yards for the Vikings at WashU last Saturday. Smith had a 50-yard punt return on the fourth play of the game that setup an AC touchdown drive.
 
He followed with a 66-yard kickoff return midway through the first quarter and registered a 43-yard punt return early in the second half. His final tally of 159 combined kickoff/punt return yards were most by a CCIW player in 2024.
