NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) named Wheaton’s Soren Richardson Student-Athlete of the Week in men’s basketball on Monday afternoon.
Richardson, who was named to the Lee Pfund Classic All-Tournament Team last Saturday, gave the Thunder averages of 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three starts last week.
The sophomore guard from Northfield, Minn. netted 29 points thanks to 11-for-12 shooting at the free-throw line in Wheaton’s 78-71 triumph versus Concordia Wisconsin last Tuesday. He followed that effort with 20 points, six boards and two assists versus Rockford on Friday, then closed out the week with 18 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals to help Wheaton beat Olivet on Saturday, 72-56.
