NAPERVILLE – North Central sophomore Jocelyn Trotter was selected Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s basketball by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Monday afternoon.
The guard from Bolingbrook, Ill. averaged 19.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in two NCC victories last week.
Trotter – last season’s CCIW First-year Student-Athlete of the Year -- helped the Cardinals to a 76-63 road over Benedictine last Tuesday thanks to a 22-point, 11-rebound effort. She shot 10-for-16 from the field, making her only 3-point try and her only free throw. She also logged four assists, a blocked shot and a steal.
In Saturday’s 85-66 rout of Concordia Wisconsin, Trotter followed with another double-double – her third of the season – with 16 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. She added four more assists, two steals and a block in a season-high 36 minutes.
