NCC’s Pryor, Wheaton’s Bonga Represent CCIW on AFCA All-America Team

WACO, Texas – North Central senior offensive lineman Sam Pryor was selected for the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America First Team on Tuesday morning. Wheaton senior wide receiver Bon Bonga was named to the Second Team.

Pryor, a senior from Sugar Grove, Ill. who was voted College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Line Student-Athlete of the Year on Nov. 19, helped lead the Cardinals to an undefeated regular season and the CCIW title.

His efforts aided NCC’s dominant offensive attack as the CCIW leader with 58.1 points, 572.3 total yards and 318.1 rushing yards per game during the regular season. NCC ranked first nationally in scoring offense (57.1), third in rushing offense (308.5) and allowed only three quarterback sacks – second-fewest in Division III. Pryor and the Cardinals continued their dominance in last Saturday’s second-round playoff win over Whitworth, amassing 493 yards of total offense and averaging 9.0 yards on 39 rushing attempts.

Bonga capped his senior season with 74 catches, 1,294 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns – all most among CCIW receivers. His touchdown total currently ranks fourth among Division III receivers, while his total receiving yardage ranks seventh and his per-game receiving yards average of 117.6 ranks ninth. The Brentwood, Tenn. native had three 100-yard games in 2024 and was a two-time CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. The AFCA’s Division III All-America Selection Committee is made up of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA’s seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee.
