NAPERVILLE – North Central and Carthage were represented Tuesday in the Men’s Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week announcement from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW).
 
Hitter: Jared Moser, North Central
Moser, a senior outside hitter from Wheeling, Ill., led the 10th-ranked Cardinals to a sweep of three opponents last week, two of which were nationally ranked. He averaged 4.2 kills with a .307 hitting percentage across 10 sets in victories over #19 Baldwin Wallace, #9 Nazareth and Messiah in Berea, Ohio.
 
In Thursday’s matchup with host Baldwin Wallace, Moser set season highs with 19 kills, 13 digs and three service aces. He also had a season-best three blocks in the Saturday victory over Messiah.
 
Setter: Tyler Donovan, North Central
The 6-foot-7 Donovan was also a key player in the Cardinals’ three-match sweep of Berea, piling up 8.8 assists per set. The Lindenhurst, Ill. native helped NCC attack at a .246 clip for the week, adding 2.1 digs per set to go along with nine total kills. 

Donovan is now a three-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week during the 2024 season.
 
Defense/Libero: Ben Heise, Carthage
Carthage was a four-set winner versus MSOE last Thursday thanks in part to the work from Heise at the net. The freshman tied a career high with seven total blocks for the #12 Firebirds, just the fifth time a CCIW player has had seven blocks in a match this season and the first player to reach that mark in multiple matches.
