NAPERVILLE – Thanks to four victories in a 48-hour window last Friday and Saturday, North Park’s Carla Cazes was tabbed College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Cazes, a senior from Marseillan, France, won two doubles bouts in duals against Wisconsin Lutheran and Concordia Wisconsin. Cazes played with Hanna Zethraeus on Friday against WLC, securing an 8-0 win over Sky Pope and Izzy Hawley. The NPU pairing also won on Saturday against Mallory Moen and Sofia Buhr of CUW, 8-1.
In singles competition, Cazes won twice. She slotted third in the lineup on Saturday against Luther and toppled Montserrat Ramirez straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. She also beat Moen of CUW on Saturday at #4 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 10-4.
