NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) recognized 16 student-athletes as members of the postseason 2024 All-CCIW Men’s Volleyball Team on Tuesday morning.

League co-champions Carthage and Loras each placed three players on the First Team. The Firebirds and third-place Augustana each had a league-high four honorees overall.

Loras junior outside hitter Corey Mayotte was voted CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year, the first Duhawk to win the award. The Geneva, Ill. native was a four-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week and finished the regular season ranked fifth nationally with 4.62 kills per set. He also ranks ninth in Division III with 5.09 points per set. Mayotte, who was the CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year in 2022, is now a three-time All-CCIW pick.

The CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year is Augustana’s Max Sellers, the first Viking to earn a postseason specialty award from the CCIW. Sellers, a senior libero from Edwardsville, Ill., ranked second in the league with 2.91 digs per set during the 10-match CCIW schedule. His 3.45 digs per set over the full season is currently fifth-most in Division III. Tuesday’s announcement marks the third consecutive All-CCIW nod for Sellers.

McNulty, who collected his third All-CCIW selection on Tuesday, helped the Firebirds attack at a league-best .325 clip. His 40 assists against Illinois Wesleyan on March 27 were most by a CCIW player during the conference slate.

Horn picked up his fourth All-CCIW accolade Tuesday, including his third First Team selection. The Oak Lawn, Ill. native averaged 10.43 assists per set over the full season, fourth-most in Division III, and also led the CCIW during conference play with 0.43 service aces per set.

The lone freshman to land on the All-CCIW First Team was Carthage outside hitter Owen Otto, who was honored as the CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year. Otto’s 3.59 kills per set against CCIW opposition was third-most in the league and his .339 hitting percentage ranked fifth.

Fourth-year Loras head coach Dylan Ross was voted CCIW Coach of the Year after leading the Duhawks to a share of their first CCIW regular-season championship with a 9-1 record. Loras opened the season with 20 consecutive victories, climbed as high as #4 in the AVCA/NVA national rankings and will enter Wednesday’s CCIW Tournament as the top seed for the first time.

Nine of the 16 student-athletes recognized on Tuesday were first-time honorees, including Illinois Wesleyan’s Michael Eastman earning the Titans’ first-ever All-CCIW selection.
