NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for matches played between Monday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 15.
 
Hitter: Kailee Itzenhuiser, Millikin, Senior (Naperville, Ill.)
Itzenhuiser repeated as the league’s hitter of the week after averaging 4.70 kills per set for the Big Blue during their three-match trip to Whitewater, Wis. Itzenhuiser had 13 kills or more in all three matches and produced a 17-kill, 20-dig double-double in MU’s sweep of WIsconsin-Stout on Saturday. She finished the weekend with a .280 hitting percentage and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invite.
 
Setter: Maddi Barickman, North Central, Senior (Geneseo, Ill.)
Barickman is now a two-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in 2024 after earning a spot on the Cornell Classic All-Tournament Team on Saturday. The 5-foot-10 setter averaged 11.0 assists in 17 sets, including a 47-assist performance in the Cardinals’ win over 21st-ranked Cornell on Friday. Barickman also gave the Cardinals 16 service aces during the week, seven of which came against Coe on Saturday.
 
Defensive: Alysa Lawton, Illinois Wesleyan, Freshman (Elmhurst, Ill.)
Lawton averaged 6.08 digs per set for the Titans over the weekend, joining teammate Kannyn Boyd as IWU defensive specialists to be named CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in 2024. She had career highs with 31 digs and eight assists in Friday’s win over Edgewood, then tacked on 21 more digs on Saturday in IWU’s five-set upset at #21 Cornell.
