CCIW Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week (Sept. 3)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for matches played between Friday, Aug. 30 and Sunday, Sept. 1.

Offensive: Elle Sutter, North Central Graduate Student (Dunlap, Ill.)
The 2023 CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year continued her strong play during the opening weekend of the 2024 season, piling up eight points for the Cardinals in their season-opening road trip to Massachusetts. Sutter is now a six-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in her career.

Sutter contributed two goals – including the match winner in the 39th minute – to lift NCC to a 7-2 win at Bridgewater State last Friday. She also assisted on a pair of North Central tallies. The forward also scored in Sunday’s match at Endicott, a 74th-minute strike inside the penalty area.

Defensive: Ainsley Stallworth, Carthage, Junior (Fresno, Calif.)
Stallworth posted a 1.50 goals-against average in two starts last weekend, lifting the Firebirds to a 2-0-0 start with road victories over Marian and Aurora. Tuesday’s announcement marks Stallworth’s second career CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week honor.

The 5-foot-11 junior also logged an .850 saves percentage, thanks largely in part to an 11-save effort in Friday’s opener at Marian. Stallworth faced 27 shots and stacked up 11 saves in the decision. She added six more saves in Sunday’s victory at Aurora.
