NAPERVILLE — A trio of standout performances earned recognition in this week’s CCIW Women’s Soccer awards, as North Central’s Jordan Lange and North Park’s Sofia Svensson were named Co-Offensive Student-Athletes of the Week, while North Central’s Mackenzie Loomis claimed the league’s defensive honor.
 
Co-Offensive: Jordan Lange, North Central
Lange led the Cardinals to a 2-0 week in CCIW play with three goals, including the game-winner against Elmhurst on Saturday. The forward from Aurora, Ill. had two goals in NCC’s 5-0 shutout over Augustana last Wednesday, both unassisted.
 
Co-Offensive: Sofia Svensson, North Park
Svensson scored three goals on the week to keep NPU perfect in CCIW play, including a pair in CCIW action in Saturday's 4-2 win at Illinois Wesleyan. She also hit the back of the net in the Vikings’ 2-0 win over Elmhurst last Wednesday. Svensson had the match-winning goal in both wins.
 
Defensive: Mackenzie Loomis, North Central
Loomis, a sophomore, scored a goal while anchoring a Cardinal back line that gave up one total shot across two CCIW shutouts. 
 
Loomis scored on a header off of a corner kick opportunity in NCC’s 5-0 shutout over Augustana on Wednesday – while not allowing a single Vikings shot – before limiting Elmhurst to just one shot in the Cardinals’ 1-0 shutout on Saturday.
