North Central Keeps Hold on No. 1 Ranking Nationwide

NAPERVILLE — Another new round of national polls kept North Central as the nation’s top-ranked team, according to rankings distributed by D3football.com on Sunday and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Monday.
 
The Cardinals remain the unanimous #1 in the AFCA poll. NCC also picked up a new first-place vote in the D3football.com announcement, securing 24 of 25 first-place votes for 624 points. North Central is 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) after Saturday’s 76-14 victory over Augustana.
 
Wheaton moved up one spot to #19 in the D3football.com rankings and to #20 in the coaches’ poll. The Thunder were 28-24 winners over WashU on Saturday at McCully Stadium.
