Titans Hold at #6 in AVCA Poll, Clinch Share of CCIW Title

NAPERVILLE — Another new American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III poll released Tuesday brings another week for Illinois Wesleyan as the nation’s sixth-ranked squad. Tuesday’s announcement marks the third straight week the Titans have been sixth and the sixth consecutive poll they’ve been inside the top 10.

The Titans won two more times last week, including a sweep of then-13th-ranked WashU last Tuesday in St. Louis, IWU followed up with a three-set league win over Millikin on Friday to improve to 20-2 overall and 6-0 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW).

IWU clinched a share of the regular-season CCIW title with Friday’s win. The Titans can secure the outright championship by winning or both of their final two regular-season games against league opponents.

There was no change to the top seven of the new AVCA poll. La Verne remains at #1.
