North Central, North Park Headline 2025 All-CCIW Women’s Soccer Honors

NAPERVILLE — The All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer honorees were unveiled by the league office on Friday morning. North Central led the conference with seven All-CCIW selections, including the third consecutive CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year honor for senior Kassandra Salviola.

Salviola becomes the league’s first-ever player to win Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year in three consecutive seasons and the first player to win any specialty award three times in a row since Wheaton’s Taryne Lee was the Student-Athlete of the Year from 2007 through 2009. Salviola's presence helped the Cardinals limit their CCIW opponents to just three goals in 720 minutes. The Naperville native also made 31 shot attempts and scored goals in victories over Carroll and Illinois Wesleyan.

North Central’s Jordan Lange was voted CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year, the third consecutive season the recipient has been from NCC. Lange paced the conference in shots with 34 and registered 21 shots on goal. She scored five goals and added five assists to rank second among league players with 15 points and 1.88 points per game. Lange, a junior from Aurora, Ill., had multi-goal games in wins over Augustana and North Park.

Another star in the North Central defensive effort was Lily Mattison, who was named CCIW Goalkeeper of the Year on Friday. Mattison led the league in goals-against average at 0.38 and posted five shutouts. She saved 18 shots, including seven in a win at Illinois Wesleyan on Oct. 22, for an .857 save percentage.

Sofia Svensson of North Park is the Vikings’ first-ever postseason CCIW specialty award winner, earning the league First-year Student-Athlete of the Year award. She was the conference leader with eight goals – five of which were game winners – and 17 points. She hit the back of the net twice in road victories at Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan.

North Park, led by sixth-year head coach Emma Woodley, was named CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year. The Vikings romped to six league wins and earned their first-ever trip to the CCIW Tournament and will host a semifinal match next Wednesday. NPU outscored opponents 18-8 during the eight-match CCIW schedule.
